Blink and 2022’s almost half way done, summer is almost upon us, and big raindrops keep us company. I’ve spent a lot of time this year ruminating on reactions to things, careful not to dwell in the past, but in an effort to be more present in how I make my own decisions and manage how I’m feeling. Feeling’s are big and complicated, y’all. And everyone’s feelings are big and complicated in their own special way. To have room for each other in that way is really important.
The past couple weeks I’ve come to the realization that all of the sadness of my 20s (as which there was a lot – warranted and unwarranted; again, Feelings) has been replaced by a slightly spicy frustration in my 30s. My knee jerk reaction has pivoted from a little sad to a little mad, which is a fun twist on a Theme.
This year I’ve been blessed with some good projects with good people. Bit of a patchy schedule, but when it all evens out, I don’t mind. Here’s to a bright solstice, and a cozy rest of 2022.

🥞 Did you know you can read digital copies of Canadian Cinematographer magazine for free?
